Foreword

This collection of arrangements for the Celtic harp features a selection of tunes which I perform regularly. They consist mainly of Welsh traditional tunes and my own compositions, although I have included some tunes from the other Celtic nations.

I have included tunes in sharp keys and flat keys which I hope will keep happy both those who tune their harps in 'C' and those who tune them in 'E'. They are all in the keys which I perform them (incidentally, I keep my harp tuned in 'F'), but I would be quite happy for people to transpose them to keys more suitable to their harp if they so desire. Similarly, the fingerings are merely my suggestions, and harpists should feel free to use alternative fingerings if it suits them.

Although these arrangements were made primarily to be played on the Celtic harp, they could also be played on the pedal harp or indeed on the piano or other keyboard instruments.

My special thanks to Robin Huw Bowen for keeping on at me over the years to get this book done, and also of course to Gwasg Teires for producing it.
