Some notes on the tunes:

Come under my Plaidie
An old song air with an interesting invitation to a young lady.

Chro Chinn t-'s Aile
The Cattlefold of Kintail is a Gaelic air, reflecting the peace and calm of the summer pastures.

Fagail Liosmor
Leaving Lismore is a Gaelic song tune composed by Margaret Martin Hardie. It should be played with a sense of pride in long flowing phrases — not as a waltz as it is often heard!

Cold and Raw
This old time, used by Burns for his poem Up in the Morning Early was well known in England as well as Scotland and at one time was used by the composer, Henry Purcell.

Katie Bairdie
This is both a dance tune and a children's rhyme.

Sheebeg and Sheemore
The Little and the Great Mountain is a delightful Irish tune attributed to O' Carolan.

A'Chuthag
The Cuckoo — Gaelic and self-explanatory!

The Sugar Brook
Another cheerful little Gaelic song tune which makes a good companion piece to A' Chuthag.

Farewell to Fiunary
Well known as a Gaelic song, sung by emigrants reluctantly forced to leave their native land.
