Some notes on the tunes:

Brochan Lom (Thin Porridge)
This strathspey is a Gaelic Puirt a Beul or "mouth music" for dancing.

Lovely Morar
A descriptive pastoral tune from the Angus Fraser collection.

Annie Laurie
The words for this song air are well known. The tune is attributed to Lady John Scott (1810-1900).

Cradle Song
This slow air was written by Aberdeenshire fiddler James Scott Skinner (1843-1927). Famous for his fiery playing of Strathspeys and reels, he also wrote many beautiful, moving slow airs.

There'll never be Peace till Jamie comes Hame
Sometimes known by the title There's few gude fellows when Jamie's awa, this modal tune was given words by Robert Burns and published in Johnson's Musical Museum. The Jamie in the title was the son of deposed King James VII who wished to reclaim the throne. He gave his name to his followers, the Jacobites and was the father of Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Newcastle
From just across the border this is a Northumbrian song tune.

Kind Robin loe's me
This tune has been published in various forms in various collections and probably dates from around 1685.

A Man's a Man for a' that
This old tune, given its famous words by Robert Burns, is sometimes played rather grandly, sounding very serious. This arrangement should be fun to play.
