There's definitely something to be said for hockey matches: the idea for the main part of this duet came to me while I was waiting for some pupils to arrive. they never did show up because they were out on the sports field somewhere, so I used the time to get the notes down on manuscript paper. Just think - if it hadn't been for the hockey, this piece might never have been written...
